Operating on the borders of New Wave, Indie, Gothic, Shoegaze, and pop, Fertile Reality brings you moody songs filled with melancholy, and catchy chorusses. And that all since 1994, though at first the music was heavy, claustrofobic, and psychedelic.
"Paddopunk" we called it. But gradually our songs became more in a traditional rock/pop vein, and people began to say that our music sounded like Joy Division. If they knew more about undergroundmusic, they even said we sounded like the older Wire. We liked that. We are big fans of Wire, and we like Joy Division as well.
Nowadays we call our music "Moody pop". The songs are dark, but most of them have a distinct pop feeling to them. They are nice songs to sing to, and if we play live, young girls dance to them. Just like we always wanted. As for live shows: we like to do them, and we played with some nice bands, like Spiritual Front, Misery, And also the trees, The Mission, Christian death 1334, The Cold, Cinema Strange, Mesh, Volksweerbaarheid, O’lenk, WED and Superikone, and maybe some day, we will play with YOU!

As for more bio and stuff: In 1994 we started, but Stefan wasn’t with the band yet. We had a female keyboardist and singer named Eline Veenis. She left the band, and after that Ralph Nieberdingh plays synths with us. He also left, and three years ago Stefan joined us. The rest of the band has always been the same. During the years we recorded one mini album, and two albums. We are currently working on a new album. Our discography:
- Micro (1998)
- The longfield battle (2000)
- The dune of the mill (2003)

The bill arrives and it’s time to check Myself out of this swamp There must be some better way, I know It’s one of those types of ways For a ground beef addict When you know they were right When they say to keep away From that ground beef
The mango trees in the bayou Sprout had-beens to give me applause But knockoff standing ovations Don’t fund a honed brick path The slopping moth milk flows through The cracks in the floor
