The annual 5-day festival is held during the last full week of April. Historic downtown Lafayette, Louisiana, is transformed into an entertainment complex featuring six music stages, food court areas, street musicians and animators, arts and crafts boutiques, art galleries, beverage stands, cultural workshops, international cooking demonstrations and a world music store.
All programming for the festival is designed to celebrate cultural expression in a variety of forms and to encourage understanding and appreciation for different cultures. Festival International events are free to the public and designed to encourage family participation from all sectors of the community.

EVERYONE willing to enjoy one of the greatest festivals in the world! We like all types of people from all walks of life who enjoy music, food, arts, crafts, culture, and the list goes on! If you really want an awesome and unique Festival experience...VOLUNTEER!Effectively staging an international event of this magnitude requires the coordinated efforts of thousands of dedicated Volunteers. Volunteers provide essential services that ensure the successful and safe production of this internationally acclaimed event. Without Volunteers, this event could not take place!
If you have volunteered for the Festival before, or are interested in doing so this year, please contact the Festival International Office at 337.232.8086 or fill out the on-line Volunteer application (www.festivalinternational.com) and submit. A Festival representative will be in touch shortly!
Group volunteer times are available! We encourage companies, clubs and other organizations to volunteer.
As a volunteer, you will not only be eligible for advance ticket sales to special events throughout the year, but you will also receive discounts on Festival merchandise as well. Find out how you can be a Volunteer today!
