The Festival of Love
in Peru August 2008.
Festival of Love is a gathering dedicated to bringing people together to exist for a moment as one common family. Trying to understand the common ground that is in all Spiritual Teachings as well as all the great music from around the world. We who are organizing this event are not its leaders, rather its servants. Our core mission is that people will leave with a sense of Love, connection and understanding. We did a free medical camp in Peru in July 2007 that served 426 people 26 of whom were bussed to Boliva for free eye surgery to bring sight back to the blind. For the other 400 people we gave free medical aid with 3 doctors and free medicine. Both adults and children were served. The total cost for this was only $700 because we take no money for ourselves. We were left with an extra $250 that we donated to one of the doctors to release 2,500 books held up in customs that were originally donatted from Spain. We are back in Peru with Suraya, Sunshine and Sky holding down a center base for us in Miraflores for the next 6 months until our next medical camp and music festival which will be in August 2008. Festival of Love experience begins as you read these words.
The Festival is inspired by Moontribe and Mother Rytasha. Festival of Love will consist of a music event in Miraflores, Lima on August 14th. It will be at Chakka Bar (inside Bowling Miraflores)... Bajada Balta 135. The money we raise goes to a medical campaign in a village in Lima. The medical campaign will be on Aug 16 and we will provide medical care by local doctors, medicine & classes all free to the people.

Dear friends, I want to thank you again for your support and contributions to the medical camp. Suraya and Joe worked non stop for 10 days in Peru coordinating and organizing the event. They enlisted the volunteer doctors and the village leaders, bought the medicines and medical supplies, distributed flyers to the village people and were able to provide pediatric and general medical services as well as the eye care to hundreds of people. Your support has directly impacted more than one man, women and child that otherwise would be unnoticed by society and without needed medical attention.
While in Lima , Suraya and Joe also visited a refuge for molested girls age 4 to 14 and abandoned handicap children. This refuge was founded by my sister and her friends and they asked Suraya and Joe for their support.
Suraya and Joe are themselves so touched by the people they were able to reach that are planning to go back in September to do another Medical Camp and also organize the big festival in February to raise money and awareness for the local area. They welcome volunteers and any support they can get.
