F.E.V.E.R. takes another step further with their typical evolutionist spirit, once again recalling their ability and need for reinvention. For the purpose, let the motto be the band’s latest 10” vinyl record “The Laptop Mixes”, the complete 3-track session, originally recorded for Henrique Amaro’s “Portugália” radio show, broadcasted June 2007 on Antena3.
Minimal versions of three songs taken from F.E.V.E.R.’s 2007 album “4st_Fourst”, cooked in a notebook computer and served by a dissident crooner. Dimmed lights and an old turntable spinning will be the ideal condiments for savouring the ambients of “Forced”, the epic hallucination of “Kill Me Twice” or the electricity of “Twilight Roadkill”. For dessert, an electro-rock-tongue-in-cheek version of Mão Morta’s “Vamos Fugir”, a remix of the previously released cover version, included in the “E Se Depois…” tribute record.
And once again the band insists in offering us a special item instead of just another record. This time, it’s a pure Do It Yourself edition, white label style, limited to 500 hand-numbered and signed copies in white vinyl, complemented with a sticker and a photo by Filipe Barrocas, a friend photographer who followed the band for a handful of gigs during 2007.
After the release of the commonly acclaimed “4st_Fourst”, the band produced a remix for Moonspell, “Scorpion Flower (the feeble cut)”, featuring Anneke van Giersbergen (Agua de Annique, ex-The Gathering), that can be found on the special CD+DVD and 2LP editions of “Night Eternal”, the latest studio album from the Portuguese metalheads.
Opening for 30 Seconds To Mars, for an audience of 10000+, was another victory for the group in 2008. Confirmed less than 24 hours before the show, the band didn’t shake a millimetre and proved that the experience earned from opening such bands as Type O Negative, HIM, Moonspell or Kreator at the Portuguese Coliseums, is now more than enough to fuel their rock-hard-quality-guaranteed shows.
Right now, the band is in the studio preparing the new album, due out in the end of the year. Once again with the objective of going another step further… stay tuned for further info.
