The band was born in the late spring of 2008 from an idea of Gianluca "Wulb" Beritognolo.
After a positive experience with his old band, Poseidon, Gianluca decides to create a new project of original music.
Marco "Vlad" D'Andrea, who also played with Wulb in the former band, decides to join this new musical project since the very beginning. The band finds the right drummer in Mauro "Jorgy" De Brasi who, after a long experience with Soul Takers, is looking for a new band. The new born musical group is now ready to bring to life the first ideas and, after the arrangement of the first songs, the need of a second guitar becomes to grow stronger. After a long search Ale "Canna" Cannatelli - the human juke-box! - joins the band.
The band is now complete and, after a few months of reharsal, is ready and to record the first mini-cd, the Beginning, and to support it with the first concerts.
The mini cd has been recorded in october 2008 at Indy Records Studio, in Busto Arsizio. It contains four track of furious and melodic heavy-thrash metal...and here we are! The story will go on: In the meanwhile we hope to see you soon on the road!!!
Why "Fianna"? The name is token from the Celtic legend of the Fianna warriors. A sort of chosen soldiers vowed to freedom and indipendence, masters in poetry and fighting altogheter.
