Beata was born in Pécs, 1964.
She finished her classical music studies with a music and folk music teacher's degree in 1996. She was introduced to Hungarian instrumental folk music in 1981 by her violin teacher, Judit Patachich.
She founded her band Meta in 1983, with whom she won the title "The Young Master of Hungarian Folk Art". They also started a regular dance house in Pécs that year.
Beata and her band moved to Budapest in 1985, where they had been running a dance house till 2000. Since then they work in the Fonó and the House of Traditions.
1985-2001: she was a folk violin teacher at the Budafok Music School. She also taught at several dance house players' courses, other courses abroad, folk music camps and at their own Meta folk music camp.
She travelled all around the world with her group Méta. They have published 9 CDs so far. She also appears on plenty of albums together with other folk musicians.
Her band won the title "Young Folk Artist" in 1983. And in 1990 they won the first prize at the folk music contest of the Hungarian Television Company. Then in 1998, they won the Emerton Prize (the Hungarian Grammy).
She takes part in the composition of the Hungarian National Curriculum.
She has been the folk-violin teacher at the Pikéthy Tibor Music High School in Vác since 2004.
Her book A Collection of Hungarian Folk Tunes for Student of the Violin was published by the House of Traditions in 2004.
The book has filled a great gap in Hungarian folk teaching. It covers six different dance house topics with around 300 tunes with bass and viola accompaniment.
She works as an accompanying musician for several professional and amateur dance groups. Her band Méta is the host of the annual Méta Folk Dance Choreography Festival.
Presently she is the lead violinist of the Hungarian National Folk Dance Group.
She also works as a freelance notes transcriber with the computer programme Finale 2004. Apart from her own book, she has also contributed to a number of other publications.
She arranged music for the CDs of Gönczöl Band, Csík Band, Vándor Vocal Group, Parno Graszt Band, Majorosi Mariann folk singer and many others.
She is interested in different types of music. You can find her name on blues, beat, pop, jazz and contemporary albums, too. Furthermore, she has appeared in a great deal of theatre plays with her band.
She works an enormous amount, she is a vigorous artist, teacher and a devoted mother.
