Jacob and Mary Bare first built on the current site of The Fieldhouse All American Sports Bar & Grill in 1835. This red stone building was a grist mill. It was constructed originally to produce flour. The mill wheels were driven by water flowing through the raceway in the basement from a small branch of Fishing Creek. According to historical records it continued to be used as a mill as late as 1921, although at some point it was converted into what was called a roller process mill. The grain hoist, three bay façade and 28” thick stone walls are the only recognizable features of the original mill. Speculation has it that it was the site of a speakeasy during the prohibition. Then after numerous owners it became the Red Mill Inn during the 1930’s and 40’s. During the 1970’s it became the Jolly Coppersmith Inn. More recently named Kclinger's Public house, a reputation of good food and good times was established and now keeping that spirit alive a new name to a community landmark known as the Fieldhouse sports bar and grill.
Come in for some of the best food in the area including those famous wings. Bring the family in early for great dinner specials and friendly service. Sports Fanatic? Enjoy a few drinks while watching the various sporting events on the numerous screens or stop by a little later on for some of the best live entertainment the area has to offer. For those of you that believe in the paranormal, keep an eye out in the dark corners or reflections in the windows and mirrors for the fabled spirit of Mary that is rumored to still frequent the old mill. Hope to make you a friend where you are always welcome here at the Fieldhouse.
