Field Music's last album, Tones of Town, was released in early 2007, but the trio took a break from band activities that spring. This hiatus led to a whole host of 'Field Music Productions' in 2008...

This country's in a weird, feeble, grotesque state and it's about time it got out of it, and the only reason it could get out of it is FIELD! MUSIC! And we believe David and Peter Brewis could RISE this country out of its decadent, ambient state more than Brown and all those crappy people could ever hope to achieve!!!
Really, you guys are one of my favorite bands. I just love the compledity, yet simplistic approach. Great productions, harmonies, hands down, everything. One of my favorite driving albums.
which page am I supposed to watch to keep up to date? I heard something about Field Music on Feb 7th? star and shadow? but i can't remember where i read it. (so when i say 'heard' i mean 'i heard myself read aloud to myself' yeah? it's only deemed weird if someone else can hear you...)

This takes place this Thursday! See you there? d.x.
Distraction presents Kania Tieffer, a otter-fixated Chick On Speed cacking out pleasantly disturbed lo-fi fake nonsense r'n'b and vitriolic electropop with cheap children's keyboards, a battered old computer and an electric guitar, in an unmissable live show. Support comes from sample stealing, tune pinching, melody wrecking a-moral wrong-uns and kings of nostalgia-core Radgepackets, and pointlessly hostile bootmash-noisewhore-wrongtronica idiot Dressed In Wires! Cor!

"I've been trying to make records, either on my own or with my brother, for years and years, some of which has been released as Field Music, some as School of Language more recently. Many of the things our records have been compared to are records I don't know or don't like or am just not all that bothered about (I mean, XTC are okay, but...). Here are a few things I've been actively trying to rip off!" - David Brewis (School Of Language)
'If I managed to combine all of these things on my next record would it be regarded as one of the greatest albums ever or would it still be mostly ignored?' is the full name of this EXCLUSIVE mix given to OLO Radio. Enjoy!
