2008 ROUGH DRAFT BIO
After nine years in the making, the songs that were written from 1999 and on are finally becoming fully realized. Having featured members over the years from Nasty Savage and Death(2004-2005 rehearsals), the band has fully transformed with it's current line-up. Progressive power metal influences and diverse musicianship run throughout with members that have all been at their craft no less than 20 years ,making for unique sonic landscapes with huge riffs and melodies.. A total of 11 songs were recorded in 2007 at Nashville,Tennessee's Omni Sound Studio and Rochester,New Hampshire's Dizzyland Studio and a 3 song sampler disc is now available. With a recent endorsement from GHS strings, a Rochester,NY drum clinic appearance ,and rehearsals in Champaign,IL in July 2008,the band is seeking management and representation for 2009 .
2007 BIO
Started in March 2001, the songs that would be progressive power metal's answer to all that is done and has been redone were actually being written as far back as the summer of 1999. Eric J. Gosselin (Nasty Savage, Living Impaired) and Bryan Cameron (Whore of Babylon) were both looking to play in a progressive band and began crafting guitar parts in Austin, TX. After 7 years and countless line up changes(including former members of Nasty Savage and Death), Gosselin has revamped this act in the midwestern town of Champaign, IL. Recruiting local bass phenomenon Alex Martirano and still having members off in other places such as Portland, Maine based drummer Bruce O'Donal (Thought out Thought,Lowlife), Fierce Atmospheres is on the way to becoming what some reviewers have even said as a band that should be among the progressive metal greats. With a recording just wrapped up in Nashville produced by grammy nominated Marc Neimiec; the band heads to Rochester, New Hampshire for additional tracking in the fall. Look for a release by FA in early 2008....
2005 BIO
In March of 2001 the project Fierce Atmospheres was formed in Austin, Texas. Eric J. Gosselin (Living Impaired,Of the Fallen,Abstract Psychology) and Bryan Cameron (Wizards Promise, Intervention) started writing the first songs that would eventually evolve into a progressive metal force meeting new heights in the genre. The first FA demo (Gale Force) acquired some outstanding reviews from many different sources and included comparisons to Iron Maiden while also stating references to the band's elaborate progressive elements. With the latest single from the Gale Force demo remixed and remastered, 'Amongst the Shadows' is getting the rave reviews that every band would like to see, including metalwarrants.com "FA should be among the progressive metal greats!!!"
While promoting the new single at Milwaukee Metal Fest 2004, Gosselin and vocalist Jon Quick (Of the Fallen) sealed an agreement with Nasty Savage drummer Curt Beeson. Although the band members are spread out over 3 states, (Illinois, Texas, Florida) including the addition of Tom Vrem (Zea Mays) on 2nd guitar, the band has started rehearsals for recording the new album in Beeson's home area of Tampa, FL. The tentatively titled new album 'Separation of the Continents' will promise to be an exercise in progressive harmonic/melodic power metal.
So here's what some people have said about the band after the release of Gale Force:
"Some great ideas here, the guitar playing is fantastic...!"
-Miskatonic Foundation (England)
"These guys should be among the progressive metal greats!!!" -Metalwarrants.com
