Founding members Chuk and Thor formed Fierce Culture in august of 1995 in the industrial park wasteland of Winsted, CT. with a crappy drum machine, a cheap guitar, a borrowed bass, and some basement tape recordings. A few years later, as the sound and equipment got upgraded, they began to work on their first independent EP. Misanthropy was self-released in 1998, recorded by members of the punk band The Pist. This release launched the band into college radio stations and larger venues.
They immediately caught the attention of local kids in the area and began a small New England tour, sharing the stage with acts such as PT Grimm, Khasm, The Aggression, and Bile.
After failure to get signed to a label, the duo continued to pursue various musical avenues through side projects.
Chuk started his goth industrial side project BloodMachine and began recording Irrational Allegro in 1999,
while Thor relocated to NYC to play guitar for the band Bitter Grace.
In 2006, the guys started talking about getting back together to mesh their love for industrial and hatred for humanity. Another release titled Demons At Play will be available sometime this century, but no real date has been established. With industrial tracks like "Perished Refuge" and the long, darkwave-tinged anthem "Scorched", this release will frolic with the mechanical and the demonic.
