Forming in January 2003, Fifty Stars Anger has rocked over 350 shows all over Canada, sharing the stage with many great bands in every Canadian province. With our political and socialist lyrics and our fast punk beat we' ve increase our fan based with our out of control scene presence, radio and television apearences and via our DIY web promotions.
In 2004 we' ve release our first 4 songs demo which received a great responding by the local punkers. After selling 1000 cds only in concerts and local underground music stores, we' ve return to the studio in 2005 to record our first full lenght called "The protester's hymn". Fist in the air punk rock with catchy hooks and lyrics that make you think about your surrounding, that was our call to the punk rock protesters!
With that new cd out and more hard DIY efforts, we left our local scene to show the Canadian fans what we can do on stage and try to enlarge our fan base. Mission accomplished for us! After touring many times from coast to coast of the country, FSA' s now a band recognize in the underground scene and received good feedback from fans, zines, colleges radio and also by music tv chanels with our two video singles. In 2006 we' ve re-issued our album on the Brantford, Ontario label Dick Rawk Records and began having even more credibilities in the underground scene.
More touring, more crazy DIY hard work brang us two years later with the need of doing another cd. June 2008 we decided to put out a 4 songs demo called "Waiting for the hurricane" to give to our hardcore fans a little taste of the upcomming full lenght. Four songs only? they said after hearing the demo, haha, we' re such a tease, but we wanted to have a first feedback before getting in studio again for the real "Hurricane"!
September 2008: Studio Time!
Recorded at Indygene Studio in Montreal, Quebec with the amazing producer Luc Tellier, we 've recorded 13 new tracks even more political and melodic than ever. With Remi' s crazy solos, Johny' s bouncing bass, Chuck' s hard and fast beats and Mike' s socialist vision and rockin' voice, Fifty Stars Anger got out of the 3 weeks studio with the best songs we ever written.
Six years of dedication, two demos, one full lenght, many songs on many compilations in Canada, United States and Europe, songs on radios, videos on tv, now we' re ready to rock for another 2 years with our new cd that should be release somewhere in 2009. We' re really thankful to all our supporters, promoters, radios and music channel that support our band since day 1, and we promise that 2k9 is going to be a crazy year on the road, protesting in every cities with our political punk-rock music.
