52 Friends!

Fifty-Two Friends is a weekly self-published 'zine by Josh Sullivan, a 27-year-old comic artist and painter from St. Petersburg, FL. The goal of this project is to travel all over the United States and stay with a different person in a different city each week in 2009. Each issue of the 'zine is 24 pages and contains comics, interviews, photos, journal entries, and more. In total, there will be 1,248 pages spread out over all 52 issues.

'Zines!

If anyone is interested in a full subscription, let me know (they're $150 for the entire run - includes postage). Each single issue is $3 + $1 for shipping. Every issue is limited to 52 copies each and there are going to be fifty-two issues, all chronicling every week of my life in 2009.



Week #1 - St. Petersburg, FL: The start of the whole trip, this issue chronicles my transition from working-class respectable citizen into a traveling hobo overnight. Read about my adventures of sleeping on Andy's couch, going to a polka, playing shuffleboard, and more! Includes comics, interviews, rants, and raves while I was in the midst of extreme sleep deprivation and stress. SOLD OUT!



Week #2 - Tallahassee, FL: This issue centers on Andy pawning me off to our friend Steve for the week. Laugh at the hilarity of me trying to get organized and cry at the fact that it doesn't truly happen. I get to live as a pseudo-college student while I stay with four Florida State students. Read about me firing a shotgun for the first time, shucking oysters for the first time, and playing beer pong for the first time. I jumped into the FSU fountain when it was 29 degrees out, too!



Week #3 - Hattiesburg, MS: Read about a slight detour to New Orleans for a morning and then I'm whisked off to Hattiesburg! Read about my adventures downtown and the many different places we went to, including a drive down to Biloxi, where I gambled for the first time. I get more organized and actually pretend to be an artist for a change! I meet lots of new people and have an excellent time doing so.
