Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the most common genetic (inherited) diseases in America. It is also one of the most serious. It is a whole body disease but it mainly affects the lungs and the digestive systems in the body, making it hard for us CFers to breathe and sometimes have problems digesting food. It is a disease that currently has no cure. At first, CF was considered a childhood disease. The median survival age was 8 years. Today, it is 36½ years

Karen&Michael	May 8 2009 6:31 PM Hi my name is Karen, I am a very proud aunt of a cfer. I have almost everyday of the week for his mother works. He is 5 months old and is just now up to 10 pounds,was 6 at birth. He has only been hospitilzed once so far thank god. I am hoping in the neear future there is a cure found for this horrible disease, but until then we let God decide on the route that is took. If anyone knows of a walk a thon or anything like that in the southeast GA area please let me know. I donate when I can to the CF website.
