Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the most common genetic (inherited) diseases in America. It is also one of the most serious. It is a whole body disease but it mainly affects the lungs and the digestive systems in the body, making it hard for us CFers to breathe and sometimes have problems digesting food. It is a disease that currently has no cure.
At first, CF was considered a childhood disease. The median survival age was 8 years. Today, it is 36½ years
