About me:
THE NEW FILM ABOUT OUR PROJECT IN RIO DE JANEIRO: The Fight for Peace Sports and Education Centre provides the opportunity each semester for around 500 children and youth, both boys and girls from the Complexo da Mar.. to participate in sports activities . The project, which began in 2000 as a boxing academy, also provides training in wrestling and Capoeira. Besides sports training, members also participate in weekly citizenship and conflict resolution classes. The project channels youthful aggression positively through sports and provides opportunities for low-income youth.
Fight for Peace seeks to offer young people at risk alternatives to involvement in crime and the drug trade, through sports, education, the promotion of a culture of peace and access to the job market. Besides the free activities for children and youth, the centre also houses a private gym that charges accessible monthly fees for community residents, promoting integration between project youth and the wider community and contributing to financial sustainability. CAPOEIRA:
The centre is a project of Viva Rio, and is supported by the Laureus Sports for Good Foundation, the British Embassy, the Ca nadia n Embassy, the Stuart and Hillary Williams Foundation, Scott Wood, Gery and Anne Juleff, the Ivanovich Family and Dreams Can Be. LUTA LIVRE EDUCATION TRIP TO IRELAND:

This is a beautiful thing. Boxing is a love of mine as well as anything that spreads a positive message. From a personal stand point as a trained boxer, although not active in boxing anymore, I understand the release therapy boxing can give a person. It's much more then physical. I still live my life as if am still boxing because it keeps me focused. The combination of the message and the activities you provide is a winning combination that can't lose. I pray this movement will go far, as it should. You have my full support.

Bless and stay cool

I believe that what you are doing is wonderful. Playful violence helps to break people's addiction to extreme violence, and combining it with education as you do is brilliant. THANK you!
Peace,
Yaron
