"Fight Like a Girl" was inspired by a true story.
It started with a routine mammogram for a co-worker who happened to be a nurse in that department. When they looked afterwards, they found something on the film.
The entire hospital rallied around their colleague, Mary. Signify Promotions was contacted to design and produce a shirt that could be sold to help offset her medical expenses.
Through those t-shirt sales and a chili donation supper, they raised more than $20,000. When they reached the $20,000 mark, Mary said, "That’s all I need. Keep going with the shirts. But share the wealth."
The good news is Mary is now cancer free. And the shirts continue to do well.
Fight Like A Girl is now an organization that's goal is to raise funds and awareness about all cancer. However, breast cancer is still its main sell.
But it doesn't stop there. Now Fight Like A Girl wants to move into the music scene, seeing as how the stage is a great place to spread this organization. So Fight Like A Girl has teamed up with Courage Suite, a young band from the Midwest, to put Fight Like A Girl onto the stage.
