In 2005 childhood friends Nelson Aguirre and Jesse Rivas reunited after several years of lost contact. The idea to form a band emerged towards the end of 2005 after Nelson’s former band had long since disbanded. Nelson (guitar) and Jesse (bass) began working on tunes and lyrics. Jessica Rivas incorporated on lead vocals. After having completed several songs, the three members were in search for a drummer. Fighting With Nancy performed several shows with sit-in musicians before meeting drummer Arcade Lopez early in 2007. Fighting With Nancy’s lineup was finally complete. With influences in classic rock and the 80’s British invasion, a combination of catchy melodies with clever yet often risqué lyrics are the two main ingredients to this Spanish (at times English) pop/rock group. With a steady back-beat, a heavy bass line, melodic riffs, and sensuous yet powerful vocals… Jessica, Nelson, Jesse, and Arcade began performing at various clubs in Los Angeles and Hollywood. Fighting With Nancy has also recorded and self released its first demo CD which includes the ever increasingly popular track titled “Vos”.
