Fiji Mermaid is a songwriter, with her duo based in Oakland, CA. Justine plays all the instruments and writes all the songs, and Scott backs up on guitar and vocals. They have been playing as a duo since 2005. Here is a link to hear some tracks from her latest album, "Green Pond."

Hey, thanks for listening. Funny, I never thought of "Open Range" that way. However, there is a tune on the album called "Another" for which I specifically asked the accordionist to approximate the sound of Nico's harmonium. In fact, I played him a track from her Peel session as a guide!
