God, without that messy church crap.

Also, I've been known to do a little standup. Here's some now.
Music
The Clash was the first band I knew I loved, so you should go listen to them. Now!
My favorite band is Pearl Jam, as they have served faithfully as the soundtrack to my life.
Also worth your time are Ryan Adams, Jesse Malin, Scott Miller & the Commonwealth, Rhett Miller, the Ass Ponys, Wussy, Ryan Adcock, Jake Speed, Kim Taylor, For Algernon, Snow Patrol, Travis, Ben Folds, John Mayer, Nellie McKay, Lucinda Williams, The Corrs (because I love Andrea Corr), Rilo Kiley, Paul Simon, eels, Lou Reed, and his work with the Velvet Underground, John Lennon (solo), The Beatles, U2, Todd Snider, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, The Killers, Bruce Springsteen, Joseph Arthur, Pete Yorn, Death Cab For Cutie, Sam Cooke, Natalie Merchant/10,000 Maniacs, Hootie and the Blowfish, etc. I love this video! My favorite song of the moment paired with a filmmaker that I'm catching up with now and loving every second of it!

Books
People don't give comics a lot of respect, but books like Preacher and Sandman are easily better than most novels I've read in my life. Speaking of novels, anything Michael Chabon puts out is worth your time. Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon is splendid, as is Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke. Harry Potter has a good thing going, but in the area of kid's books I absolutely adore The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. Though the best novels I've ever read are The Catcher In The Rye, by JD Salinger, and Neverwhere, by Neil Gaiman.
I have just discovered the joy of Kurt Vonnegut, which is kind of ironic, I guess.
Heroes
Orson Welles. Robert Altman. Tom Waits. Stanley Kubrick. Ingmar Bergman.
They say a man is the sum of his accomplishments. Well, I have seen the sun set twice in one day. I have been named in liner notes. I have worked on two presidential campaigns. I have produced plays. I have spent time with The Wailers. I have a national recording artist's number in my cell phone. I have been a goalie, a running back, a deacon, a student, a soldier, an usher, a clerk, a comic, and a royal pain in the ass.
Oh, and here's this movie I acted in.
Who I'd like to meet: "The only people for me are the mad ones." I enjoy people who have passion for whatever they do. People who have a creative spark. Curiosity is another dealbreaker. I cannot abide a person who has no curiosity. Oh, and a woman to love until the end of the world.
