Sounds Like
An original, new wavey, psychedelic painting as drawn by people who are marginally better at playing musical instruments than they are at actual painting. Except Andrew, who’s probably quite good at painting.
Formed after the demise of the popular Saddleworth combo "the Fizzles", who fizzled out in the mid nineties, Film Extras have been writing top tunes and occasionally performing since. They released their first EP "Undercurrents" in 1999. This was followed up by a self-financed debut album- "Unsafe at any Speed!" (which was erroneously associated with British Sea Power by Mojo magazine; any similarity not extending beyond a love of taxidermy) in 2003. Since then they have been amassing a more eclectic mix of strange pop music for their new long player, entitled "Knowing When To Stop", which saw the band reunited with their long time collaborators Ed "phones" Mustafic, and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Jones (who has been performing again with Hereford punk popsters, Billy Whizz.) The album is available through this site for the princely sum of five English pounds.
