I’ve decided to take a version of my closed “selected only” Disney/ABC workshop set for June and offer it to the public now.
So you have a great idea for FILM or TV, you’ve found a great piece of material to produce, or you’ve actually written your own feature length script… Now what? You need to think in “Hollywood terms”
Development Executive/Lit Manager German Michael Torres, will discuss the step by step process of how to get that story ready for Hollywood and into the hands of Hollywood Execs and Agents-Just has he does with literary clients and own projects. Through 6 Story Building Blocks, creative packaging advice, representation guidence, pitching and selling techniques, and valuable insight, this workshop takes a hands-on approach to prepare you for Hollywood. It is a necessary tool for writers, directors, and producers wanting to get their stories produced and made into Hollywood material.

German Michael Torres develops, produce, and packages TV, Film, and New Media. He currently has several projects around town including his original half hour comedy with producers at CBS/Paramount. He’s helped package, sell, and set up projects such as Proof of Life (Warner Brothers), The Chronicle (Sci-Fi Channel) and to companies such as NBC, CBS, FOX, MGM, Warner Brothers. He’s helped represent literary talent and collaborated with producers such as Silvio Horta (Ugly Betty) Kevin Bright (Friends) Taylor Hackford (Ray), Tony Gilroy (Michael Crayton), creators of Big Love, and more. He currently is the head of development and associate manager at a management/production company with A-list clients represented by ICM, WMA, CAA, Endeavor, and Paradigm. He is the founder of Professional Latinos In Entertainment. GMT is a member of the Producers Guild and The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

About me: Professional Latinos In Entertainment’s (PLIE) new filmmaking initiative: “Filmmaker Discovery Program” is designed to discover an up-and coming filmmaker from a diverse background and provide support in realizing their dream of becoming an expressive and successful filmmaker. The Filmmaker Discovery Program will choose one participant that completes a series of workshops and training each session and develop, produce, and screen their short films (featurette). FDP will showcase the filmmaker and the film at local and national festivals, specialized short-film distribution outlets, and intend to secure much needed representation for the filmmaker. FDP’s support and exposure will provide a platform to hone their skills and open doors for the filmmaker giving them a fair opportunity to succeed as an artist in the field of entertainment. The program has two award, Emerging Director Award and New Media Director Award.

Who I'd like to meet: "IT'S A LATIN THANG" Professional Latinos In Entertainment (PLIE) is a 501c (3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting, informing, and acknowledging latinos in entertainment and promoting diversity within the community. PLIE’s mission is to support, educate, and guide talented and emerging Latinos into becoming professionals in entertainment, arts, and media. PLIE also create that necessary bridge between talented Latinos and Hollywood by making real connections for Latinos. In a short period of time PLIE, its officers, and programs have helped countless emerging artists Latinos of all levels obtain access, work, skills, and opportunities (i.e. writer Ted Perkins Lopez writer Fox, writer Silvio Horta creator of Ugly Betty, Director Joe Menedez, Ladrón que roba a ladrón, and many more) and most importantly a platform to express themselves in the arts and entertainment. In order to make PLIE accessible to those in need, PLIE’s events, workshops, and programs are currently free of charge. .
