Also... the acting of Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Warren Oates, Gene Hackman, and Mickey Rourke (in the early days). The philosophy of Thomas Paine, Emerson, and Thoreau. The writing of Charles Bukowski and Cormac McCarthy. The political street art of BANKSY. The documentary films of Errol Morris. The comedic genius of Ricky Gervais and John Cleese. (If you think Dane Cook is funny, we probably won’t get along.) The animation of Ralph Bakshi. The New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles. The photography of W. Eugene Smith, and my teachers: Lee Strasberg (through Douglas Dirkson), J.P. Guens, Brad Saunders, and Eric Sherman. Everything I’ve experienced in my entire life...

Cam McHarg's Interests
General
Movies, photography, watching great actors do their thing, propaganda art and films, laughing until it's painful, experimental art of all kinds, political geek, trying new things, Seattle Seahawks fan, weird dreams, mythology, Jungian Psychology, travel, all things ancient, home-brewing my own beer and ale, good coffee, the outdoors, reading, KCRW and National Public Radio. I love the art and paintings of Edward Gorey, Paul Laffoley, Pedro Kastro, Clive Barker, Fernando Apodaca, H.R. Giger, and Alex Grey. I'm really into cool quotes. Here are a couple of my favorites: "We will either find a way, or we will make one." -Hannibal "I will seize destiny by the throat!" -Beethoven "Fall Down seven times, stand up eight." -Japanese proverb. "An intellectual is a man who says a simple thing in a difficult way; an artist is a man who says a difficult thing in a simple way." -Charles Bukowski

Also, The Century of The Self, and The Power of Nightmares are two of the best documentaries I've ever seen.
If Will Smith, Keanu Reeves, or Adam Sandler is in it, chances are good that I won't watch it.

I'm Cam McHarg. Sometimes I go by my full name, Cameron. Either way's cool with me. I'm an actor turned writer-director, and I'm here to share my commercial spots/movies, to meet great people who love movies, and to meet great people who might want to work together. This is what I love, and I have a blast doing it. I truly hate wearing ties. In this business, you may have to whore yourself a little, but if I ever have to wear a tie, I'd probably off myself. Not only do they look and feel uptight and stiff... but they make you look like a total corporate, unoriginal, loser. I think it makes guys look like boring sheep, and wearing one would not make me feel professional. It would make me feel like a car or insurance salesman. If I ever had to wear one to work, I'd consider myself a complete failure.
OK, speech over. :)
Here's a little movie I put together about when I was born, and what (if any) significance there was with me coming into this world. It features stuff that was going on in pop culture and current events here in the U.S. at the time of my birth. The volume on the voice-over is pretty low, so you may have to crank it up a little. ) Enjoy!! :)
Here's a short dream sequence that I appeared in from, "Family Tree".
Here is a trailer for a documentary/comedy the I Co-Produced. It's called, "Outdoorsmen: Blood, Sweat, and Beers". It's really funny! Go check it out on Netflix!
Here's a goofy little comedy short that I made and acted in just for fun when I was working my way through school at Warner Bros... "Officer John Baker: Security Retard" (I had waaay too much time on my hands... ) ;)
Here are a few little clips from an old acting reel of mine that I just found. The picture is tiny for some bizarro reason. I'm too impatient to try to fix it. I thought it was pretty amusing, anyway. Enjoy! :)
Here's the opening sequence that I made for, "The Merrill Davis Show" on www.thestream.tv
Here is the cut of my short documentary, "A Plain Pine Box", that aired on CurrentTV under the title, "Eco-Burials"
Who I'd like to meet: Smart, driven, fun, funny, open-minded, and creative people who want to make a difference and express themselves in a new and original way. I want to meet people who want to make things happen, and are more action than talk. I want to be around and work with people who care, and want to be a part of something bigger than themselves, not people who just want to make themselves bigger. Acta non verba!
Thanks for the birthday wishes! Congrats on your short "Kicking Sand..."! That's fantastic! Look forward to hearing more good things that come your way. All the best! DG
Hey Cam! We're actually performing at Dragonfly on Santa Monica Blvd on May 6th @ 9pm...hopefully you can check that out. We've been busy writing, recording and mixing some new songs, which we'll be releasing soon...hope you're doing well!
Congratulations Cam! Saw "Kicking Sand in your face" which is really cool! I am very happy for you and surely more greatness will follow... :0) Have a successful and healthy New Year ahead!!
