WHAT IT IS:
Films For Food is a 24 Hour Marathon of the very best in Independent Cinema with the only cost of admission being a non perishable food item or cash donation to The Second Harvest Food Bank of Erie.
The event is Organized by Erie Film Makers Paul Gorman and Jason Hull. It's held annually at Theater 145, the former Roadhouse Theater in Erie, Pennsylvania.
The Second Annual Films For Food Event will be held November 7th thru the 8th, 2008. Beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Friday with the last film screening at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. A Reception hosted by The Great Lakes Film Association will be held at 10:00 p.m .on Saturday evening.
The Films being screened during the 24 Hour Marathon are selected from Donations from Film Makers all over the world. Last year's event featured the award winning "Chasing Darkness", "Virgin Pockets" and "Fist Of The Vampire" as well as the World Premiere of "Aspiring Psychopath". This year's event will feature the award winning action film "Escape From Darwin" and the psychological thriller "The Other", both films took top honors at the 2008 Indie Gathering in Cleveland.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Raise much needed food items as well as cash donations for The Second Harvest Food Bank of Erie. This non profit charity is a major support line for the City's homeless and under privileged.
2. Create awareness of the on going issues of Homelessness, Poverty and the plague of Hunger in our community.
3. Allow all members of the community to enjoy the art of Independent Film Making without any financial burden. The only cost of admission to any and all screenings is a food item, and no one is ever turned away for lack of a donation.

100% of all Cash Donations from Sponsors will go towards television, print and internet advertising of the event.
