We remixed this track and we were so proud of it that i re edited the original video to fit our remix.
I think it works quite well.

Filthy Dukes - Nonsense In The Dark - £5 MP3 download

We are Filthy Dukes. We were DJs, now we are a band and DJs and also producers. It was just Olly and Tim playing records, it sometimes still is in fact, then we started to work with Mark to make music.

We have made a debut album, Nonsense In The Dark that's out right now. We have also released some singles and done a bunch of remixes so keep an ear and eye out because they're all rather splendid. In fact you can listen to some of our music right here!

We run a club night called Kill Em All that has been going for 5 years, this particular disco is held at Fabric. We have had guests like Justice, Erol Alkan, Bloc Party, Crystal Castles, Late Of The Pier, Chemical Brothers, James Murphy, Jackson & His Computer Band, Zombie Nation, Schinichi Osawa, Brodinski & Simian Mobile Disco. It's a good party.

Our album, like most personal art forms is a result of our influences, these range from Tangerine Dream to Hot Chip, Can to SMD, Roxy Music to Soulwax, Hip Hop to Krautrock. You know, a bit of old stuff and a bit of modern, plus loads of other things it would take too long to list. We have worked with a collection of artists who we really like and most of them have also played Kill Em All: Samuel Dust from Late Of The Pier, Plastic Little, Brandon Curtis from Secret Machines, Tommy Sparks, frYars, Orlando from The Maccabees, Foreign Islands, To My Boy and Mauro Remiddi from Sunny Day Sets Fire. It a genre-melting electro dance album with an indie heartbeat.

We have a mixing desk which was made and used by Conny Plank, he was possibly the most important German producer ever, and had a great beard. We also have a ton of old synths which we have used to make this album, Roland Juno 60, Arp 2600, Moog Voyager, Roland Sh101 plus loads of pedals, distortion units and other geeky stuff.

Ok I reckon that's it for now, we are very excited about our album it took us ages but we love it and hope you do too.

The best way to hear it is to see our live show, we play quite a lot of it. The dates are on this page somewhere. The live show is damn good so you should really come and experience it for yourself.

We also have nice bags and a giant 4 foot eye.

WHAT PEOPLE HAVE SAID ABOUT US:

NONSENSE IN THE DARK - THE ALBUM
..............................................................................................................
**** Uncut

“an embarrassment of riches” DJ ****

“A sonic power force” The Fly

“An album that can effortlessly spiral from Justice-on-nitrous stormers to downbeat, acid-drenched beauty. It’s the debut they always threatened to make, only better” Clash

“Filthy Dukes look to follow a familiar path set out by the likes of Justice, Simian Mobile Disco and Digitalism: from their Kill Em All club nights and mass appreciation in music blogosphere, to electro-indie stardom. Exquisite listening” CMU Daily

“These two DJs-turned-band centre pieces know what they’re doing. We know what they’re doing too. The filthy bastards.” Artrocker

"This Rhythm...clones Heaven 17 with mad scientist glee, while Cul De Sac merges David Bowie and Depeche Mode in one behind-the-speakers liaison." Q

THIS RHYTHM
..............................................................................................................
“Damn straight this is filthy!...three minutes of dancefloor fun”
Clash

“This is exactly what your weekends have been missing”
NME

“Pulsating, synth-driven pop with a dark heart” Music Week

“worth getting your ears syringed for, “This Rhythm” makes us wish you could listen to music in HD” Mixmag – electro single of the month

Busy P (Ed Banger) - "I must say the Kill Em All remix is working on me! I love the Giorgio Moroder style of it. I will play tonight at Club NME in Paris."

Andrew Weatherall - "Love the original used it on my latest 'Beats In Space' podcast."

Sinden - "Global street banger - whistles and all - from the man teezy!!! love it love it love it."

Aeroplane - "Like this EP a lot!”

Tom Findlay (Groove Armada) – Great track, big analog sounds. 4/5.

Laurent Garnier (Various) - EBM... Always liked it will play for sure.

Headman (Relish/Various) - I wish I could get some of that Conny Plank magic! Sounds great! 4/5.

Mylo – “Most excellent! The Emperor Machine mix is the one for me.”

Rex The Dog - "Kill Em All remix. It's wicked, lovely and robust and spritely.”

Mumdance - "Yet another essential release from the Filthy Dukes, with a great selection of remixes to cover any eventuality. The Toddla remix is especially close to my heart & made me do a little sex wee when I first heard it."

GENERAL
..............................................................................................................
“Their juddering, squelch-sodden and anthemic electro pop is a sure-fire party starter” Time Out

“Amazing live” London Lite

“The rising stars of electro-pop” Time Out

“[Filthy Dukes] have nailed the transition [from respected DJs to proper band] by dint of having actual compositional talent as well as an unerring ability to obliterate dancefloors”. NME.com
