Filthy MacNastys Official includes Filthy MacNastys Whiskey Cafe (68 Amwell street EC1) & The Gladstone (64 Lant street, Borough). However, if you wish to know more about The Glad, best to check www.myspace.com/theglad directly (Top friend).
Filthy MacNastys, a real pub for real people. People that like their booze & know what they want. From ancient Irish sages who trek across London for a pint of Guinness to the know it all musos & young would be pop kids & starlets of next year (or even last) all hoping to rub shoulders with a musical hero & each other, everyone here drinks with purpose.
As the name may suggest, drinkers of whiskey will not be disappointed & should keep an eye out for special 'one off' bottles of whisky that 'don't hang around forever'.
But the revolution does not end there!
Walk through to the back bar on the right night & you can sense that something may be happening & that whatever's happening, may be tomorrow's news. But then again it may be just another great night of music.
These impromptu free gigs, as well as showcasing new talent, have recently seen The Alabama 3, The Libertines, Hope of States, the Spizz, The Vipers, Tom Hingley, Ian McLagan, Chris Difford (Squeeze), Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Rhoda Dakar, Dr Robert & Dennis Greaves playing to a sweaty room. And you never know who will be drinking next to you...
See you there...
Veronica

Weep not for the CD! Presenting the Back to Wax Revue, live onstage primitivist soundclash featuring genuine wax cylinder recording sessions. Witness performers battle with the original medium of recorded sound, Edison's wax cylinder, state of the art circa 1877. Ponder how recording mediums affect music; what changes in in the midst of form and content?
FEAT: Tom Rodwell (NZ) - gospel-blues primitivist Madame Pamita (LA) w/ K. Boogie - the world's foremost euphonious prognosticatrix Borough Cat (London) - London's doe-eyed dude of dolorum VS The Vulcan Cylinder Record Co. of Sheffield, UK - one of only two studios in the world with the capacity to acoustically record cylinders in the Edison fashion, Vulcan is also the world's only cylinder pressing plant and label.
I have uploaded a live-recording of the song 'On The Wrong Side'. It was recorded when I played at Eddie's Attic in Atlanta, Georgia in March. Have a listen to something real =)
