"everything happens for a reason" mentality. got an affinity for MUSIC that's impossible to put into words.

I've been djin' seriously for the last 5 years now. I'm originally from Los Angeles California, where I was introduced to the LA underground in late 1997. It was then that I first heard Jungle/Drum n Bass and from then on I was hooked! In 1999 I moved to Denver Colorado where I actually learned how to spin. As I moved forward with my art I began to get booked at a variety of different clubs, parties and events in the Denver area. I began to get recognized and was given opportunities to be part of collectives such as Sister Denver which is a branch of Sister USA, which includes Sister SF, Sister NYC and Sister PDX. I also took part in one of Denver's leading drum n bass crews, the Wreckin' Kru. I've been given the priveledge to play at events with big time producers and DJs such as: Robot Death Squad, DB, Machete, A-Sides and Silver.
During this whole time I was also deeply into Hip Hop, the real-gritty-underground stuff. As I sought out to be a DJ, I knew that I wanted to do it all. I had been learning how to cut and scratch and started to play some hip hop gigs ocassionally.
In 2006 I decided I wanted to move out of the US to gain a different perspective, I decided to move to Costa Rica. I've been in Costa Rica for over a year and have been pushing and promoting drum n bass to the fullest. It is a fairly small scene but has a lot of potential! I'm working closely with one of my new affiliations, CR Junglist Crew and have been working hard to get the music moving!

El lanzamiento del nuevo disco de ISAAC MAYA _ THE PROPHET RIDES AGAIN.
Un disco que contiene 17 tracks mezclados, muy dinámico y alegre lleno
de sonidos reggae jungle, con lo cual no solo muestra su faceta como
productor sino también su talento como dj.
De los 17 tracks 11 son de su propia producción con colaboración de
algunos productores como Bandulu Dub y Mike tm , reconocidos mc..s como
Demolition Man y Mega Zimze y remixes a canciones de otros productores
como Son de Yara y Macky Gee, los otros 6 temas son de reconocidos
productores de la escena que apoyan a Maya en este proyecto entre ellos
cave mencionar a Marcus Visionary, Benny Page, Mooncat, Dj Bubb y Krak
in Dub.
La finalidad de este disco es acercar el drum and bass y el jungle a la
gente de Latinoamérica en un formato más accesible y de fácil
reproducción, como lo es el CD, esto es un esfuerzo por desmitificar la
idea errónea que el drum and bass aun es un género experimental y
underground solo accesible a poco público.
La fiesta de presentación se llevará acabo el próximo 11 de julio de
2009 en el nuevo SALÓN CALAVERA ubicado en tacaba 64 col. Centro México
D. F. Evento que contará con 2 áreas musicales el MAIN ROOM con sonidos
reggae y jungle y el AREA 2 enfocada a sonidos soul, deep y dark del
drum and bass, el line up es el siguiente:

i am doing good. i dunno if u heard but ty got thrown in jail for like 2 weeks about a month ago :( it was sad, so in that case no we wont be leaving the country for a while cuz he is going to be on probation for seriously the next 3 or 4 years it really sux! i can come out lol but he cant :(
