"With a unique writing style full of Pop, Rock, Hardcore, Metal, Indie, and Jazz influences, this band knows how to keep the public guessing and the fans wanting more. The members have been involved in three formerly very popular Pittsburgh bands - Afterdrama, Reasons For Leaving, The Unethical Development of Hopeless Romanticism. These guys have plenty of experience and know what they’re doing.
Guitarist Ross Heastings, 20, picked up his instrument at the young age of 11. At 12, he was given the chance to play at the AJ Polumbo Theatre and the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. After that, he was addicted to both the stage and the spotlight. He preformed in school musicals before joining his first band, D!N (which later changed their name to Afterdrama,) when he was 15. Ross has since mastered his act on stage and the ladies can’t get enough! He’s been compared to legendary guitarists both for his guitar skills and his stage presence.
Jason Mitsch, 21, began taking bass lessons in the 8th grade with dreams of starting a successful band someday. He started the band D!N (Afterdrama) at the age of 13 and grew to perfect his instrument and live performance quickly. Jason’s musical influences cover every type of music you can imagine, from heavy metal, pop, rock’n roll, rap, classical, indie, and everything in between. This guy knows how to rock it on stage. He’s known locally for writing some of the best and most creative bass parts around and for doing it flawlessly. With his many pivots, flowing hair and driving bass line he wow’s the crowd every time.
Drummer Nicholas Baxter, 21, purchased his first kit at 15. He took percussion lessons specializing in Jazz, Swing and Funk trying to perfect his craft for years. He was soon invited to join the band D!N (Afterdrama). Since the disbanding of Afterdrama Nick has sessioned and toured with bands such as Clearview Kills, Reasons For Leaving, The Victory Year, and TUDOHR which gave him the opportunity to share the stage with The Matches and perform at the 2006 MLB All Star Game. It’s rare to see Nick play a bad show as he is a perfectionist when it comes to his drum set. Because of this, he has been called one of the best drummers in Pittsburgh.
With their skills, professionalism, knowledge of the music industry and a large regional fan base ‘Finding Lyra’ is sure to succeed."
