There are artist who have something, there are artists who just got it, and upon hearing his voice for the first time, it is obvious that Siergio Larry is one who has it. With an irresistible blend of soul, funk, R&B and pop, he invokes greats from the past while bringing something new to the game. He honors the roots of R&B while imagining it greater. Siergio Michael Larry was born January 2nd on the Southside of Chicago. He was the 2nd of 12 other siblings. Growing up on the Southside of Chicago was very hard and rigid. He came from a very poverty stricken home and struggled most of his life. Siergio was exposed to violence, crime, the party scene, abuse and prostitution at a very young age. At the tender age of 5, the Larry family discovered the voice that God had given Siergio. Throughout the years of his adolescence, his voice developed and grew heights his family never expected. He had a very powerful, rich, full and mature voice. He had the power to change someone’s mood he had the ability lift and inspire someone through his voice. His mother Charmaine knew that it was necessary to move Siergio away from the Southside of Chicago and get him into a good school that would set the foundation needed for him to get into a university where he could major in music and fashion. After the move, Siergio began performing at local talent shows, school musicals, record at local studios, and perform at weddings. All of these experiences were great but he was a star in the making and these small gigs did not cut it. Siergio decided to move it up a notch and audition for American Idol twice. Finally he made it to the top 100 but it was always the same thing in the end “You have a tremendous voice but you are to young. You need growth and you’re not ready for this industry yet.” Siergio remained determined and moved to Atlanta where he attends Clark Atlanta University. He soon after joined the group Xclusiv. He added to the group a look, swag and a heartfelt voice. The group split and did not get a chance to audition for the major record label. The label was looking for group’s not solo artist. Siergio took it as a blessing; because he was born to as a solo artist. His talents were hardcore and his talent was unique and distinctive. He continued to record on his own in local Atlanta studios. Sergio decided to try a group again and he auditioned for making the Band 4. He felt in his heart that Bad Boy was his home and he knew that this would be an opportunity of a lifetime. Rejection slapped in his face once again. “You are very talented, but you’re not exactly what were looking for.” He knows that he has everything it takes to be a superstar. He is humble, leveled, religious, determined, talented and extraordinary. He remained dedicated to music. Music is his life and it is in his heart. “I don’t know where I’d be without music. Music has gotten me through hell and anguish. I cannot give up on it now. I have been doing too long to stop here. I am a representation of music,” Siergio professes. This did not break Siergio and he will never stop. He is a star in the making. Sergio’s motto is “If not us, who? If not now, when?” He will stop at nothing to get to stardom. His ultimate goal is to meet someone to show case his talent because what American Idol and Bad Boy Representatives did not see, you will.
