"One of the best Guitarists I've ever seen, Iain combines an astonishing talent with a huge range of musical tastes - and a refreshing lack of self-importance" The Buteman-Bute live Festival His first recognition as a talented guitarist was in 2003 at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow. Iain was honoured with the prestigious Danny Kyle award for his performance, in which he competed with bands and musicians from all over the UK. Since then Iain has been opening shows and rubbing shoulders with world class performers such as Brian Kennedy, Eddi Reader, Donnie Munro of Runrig, John Renbourn, The James Brown Band, Horse McDonald, Ricki Lee Jones, Hans Theesink, Alistair McDonald, Marc Atkinson, Gary Potter, Joscho Stephan, John Goldie, Bruce Molsky, Duck Baker, Tony McManus, John Doyle and Anna Massie to name a few! Iain appeared at Celtic Connections for 3 years consecutively 2003 – 2006. In 2008, he was also asked to play at the Fruitmarket in Glasgow to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 'Danny Kyle Award'.
