In the summer of 2007 in the town of Hawick in the Scottish Borders a
group of friends got together after their previous bands had split up
for "something to do" and started jamming. Enjoying the music they were
creating they decided to make their jams a more perment thing,
Fingertip was born.
The band continued to write songs through out 2007. after going
through a change in guitarists the band made their live debut over
christmas 2007. throughout 2008 continued to gig including a headlining
slot at the famous Edinburgh Liquid room plus many other headliners
across Scotland (and a few in england). In February 2008 the band was
awarded XFM's Band of the week. the following month "Variations Of Me"
their debut E.P. was recorded.
The band started to write new songs for their second release towards
the end of the 2008 taking a break from playing gigs. The band once
again entered the studio in January 2009 to begin recording their
follow up to Variations of Me. After the recording was complete the
band took a small break. During this break the band sadly lost one of
the founding members. Not wanting to stop, the band picked up and
drafted in a good friend and continued where they left off. After 8
months of no live performances the band are making their return in to
the stage in August.
Fingertip signed to Holier than thou Records in July 2009 and will
be releasing there debut Download Single "Uplifted" in September.
