finity affliction took its first breath without even knowing it in the summer of 2007 in alexandria, va; the band wouldn’t play their first show until april 2009. it all started when austin (vocals) responded to a craigslist ad of a church plant seeking a worship leader. dustin (lead guitar) and nick (drums, vocals) were added to the worship lineup shortly after they responded to a craigslist ad by austin seeking worship musicians. in september of 2007, dc metro church was launched and this group of talented musicians began leading worship together which they continue to do faithfully today. a few months later God brought zack (bass) and taylor (guitar) to dc metro church and ultimately finity affliction.
in the early 2009, finity affliction was officially formed as they began writing and honing their skills. their sound, a hard melodic rock driven by catchy guitar riffs and tight vocal harmonies is one not too often heard today. with influences from worship, funk, rock, and country, the band embarked on a journey that God so clearly orchestrated. from their first show in april 2009, it was evident that God had created something special. the remainder of 2009 proved to be fruitful as finity affliction capitalized on every opportunity they were given to play including placing in various battle of the band competitions.
finity affliction is excited for what God has for them in 2010 as they prepare to step it up. they have already been booked at venues all over the mid-atlantic which they are looking forward to all while continuing to record and write new material. in the summer of this year, finity affliction plans on releasing their first ep which will include the mellow yet driving “impossible” and the high energy thriller “the refusal”.
