The citizens of Shiawassee County and the men and women of the sheriff's department deserve a sheriff who is educated, experienced, and concerned for the safety and welfare of our community. I have remained a lifelong Republican and refused to abandon the party that shares my fundamental political beliefs. I currently work with the sheriff's department on a daily basis, as I have done for many years. After 19 years of public service as a Shiawassee county prosecutor this is the only time that I have felt the need to offer my services as an elected official, and I am certain that I am the best candidate to provide the leadership, knowledge, and experience the department needs."

Deana Finnegan has over 19 years of prosecution experience, directing hundreds of criminal investigations through various police agencies, including the Shiawassee County Sheriff's Department and successfully trying and convicting the County's most serious felons. Furthermore, she is the only candidate to be born and raised in Shiawassee county. She is actively involved in the community she cares about.
