--> CDBABY LINK for FIN: wasting time, building a future -->
FIN was formed in New York's East Village in 2002 by Scott Garry and Kenny Cords. Kenny left the band in 2003 to pursue different projects, the two remain close. Scott continued on with original bassist Chris Butler and the bands second drummer, Jared Kerr. Guitarist John Anthony, Scott's long time buddy and label mate joins FIN for various shows and recordings. Carol Sharks, original member of FIN, continues to lend her keyboards and collaborative efforts. In August of 2004 FIN completed their first EP entitled, "Wasting Time, Building A Future". Produced by Malachi DeLorenzo and Scott Garry and released via Spillway Records (a label started by John Anthony and Scott Garry in 2002). They're west coast summer 04' tour helped with the release of the EP, which is currently in Tower Records (nyc) listening station. FIN has established itself in NYC by playing in such clubs as CBGB's, Continental, the Cutting Room, ACME Underground, Siberia, & the famous Death Disco party (www.bpfallon.com) FIN's bass driven, melodic sound is likened to MBV, while their songwriting has been compared to the Flaming Lips, and Pavement. Scott Garry recently relocated to Los Angeles in January, however the band will continue it's touring schedule in the spring/summer.
