'Strategy' Written and directed by Fiona Maher. It's a pawn movie... Deities and diamante when a goddess directs a man's destiny through the mean streets of Bristol. Short. Dur: 2m.30s. October 2005. Premiered at 'Encounters' festival in Bristol.
'Show Real' ... A Star is Born.. what one actress will do to land that plum role... Written, filmed and directed by Fiona Maher. Made to showcase the comic talent of actress Kimberley Barrett. Shot in a day. Dur.3m.30s. March 2006.
'Expiry Date' You buy, you die... when a cursed credit card offers you unlimited spending, you really ought to check out the interest rate... this one's murder... Original story and screenplay by Fiona Maher. A feature length teen horror, available for sale very soon at www.expirydate.co.uk. Premiered at Cardiff Film Festival and Leeds International Film Festival over the same weekend. Full length feature. 2007.
'Benchmark'... A Liverpool legend. The antidote to all the 'Capital of Culture' malarkey enveloping Liverpool until 2008. Sadly the 'Culture of Capital' is seeing a lot of old Liverpool landmarks being consigned to the wrecking ball. 'Benchmark' was made in just 48 hours for the Liverpool 48 film challenge in 2006. It premiered on the BBC Big Screen in Liverpool city centre in late 2006 as part of the Liverpool Biennial celebrations. Short. Dur. 6mins. 2006.
'This is My Love'. Music Promo. Dur 3min 30s. 2006. Directed by Fiona Maher. The Aeroplanes are a fantastic band with a great sound. This was their first single. Jeff Bridges used another of their songs for his movie, 'The Moguls'. Check out The Aeroplanes on MySpace
'The Apprentice'. Ever needed a miracle...? A hapless young apprentice is sent on an impossible errand... will he defy expectations and deliver the goods? Written and co-produced by Fiona Maher, this was her first short film. 'The Apprentice' starred the brilliant Leigh Edmonson - he's since gone on to appear in Little Britain, and Michael Starke. Once a familiar face as 'Sinbad' in Brookside, Michael is now to be seen in 'The Royal'. 'The Apprentice' was executively produced by Alex Cox.Dur. 9m.30s. Premiered at Raindance Festival Oct. 2004.
'Up the Garden Path'. Seven Eves for seven Edens... Directed by Fiona Maher. Written by, crewed and starring students of the 'Script to Screen' course at Blackburn House in Liverpool, this film explores the themes of the seven deadly sins enacted at an allotment. Starring Dean Sullivan as a wonderfully OTT 'Gluttony'. Short. Dur.8mins. 2005
'And I'd Like To Thank...' The ultimate acceptance speech. Short. Dur 30 sec. 2006.
