About me:

Seaside Heights Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. was Established on October 30th., 1913. We are Designated as Ocean County Fire Station No.44. We operate from one firehouse located at 116 Sherman Avenue, part of the Borough of Seaside Heights Municipal Complex, in Seaside Heights Boro, Ocean County, New Jersey. Seaside Heights is located in the Southern section of the Barnegat Beach Island, seperating the Barnegat Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. Located on the Barnegat Beach Island are nine Ocean County Fire Stations; Point Pleasant Beach No.1 (Sta.42), Point Pleasant Beach No.2 (Sta.43), Bay Head (Sta.14), Mantoloking (Sta.35), Pioneer Hose (Sta.22-1), Ocean Beach (Sta.27), Lavallette (Sta.69), Seaside Heights (Sta.44) and Seaside Park (Sta.45). We provide primary fire and rescue services to Seaside Heights, Ortley Beach and Pelican Island. Our department will also respond anywhere resquested for mutual aid, including out-of-county and out-of-state. We respond to between 230-300 fire calls annually. This includes, but is not limited to; Structure Fires, Vehicle Rescues (Extrication), Fire Alarms, CO Alarms, Water/Ice Rescues, Landing Zone Set-Ups, Haz-Mat Assignments, Gas/Water Leaks and many more. Our department has over 50 dedicated members who are all on a 100% volunteer status, helping those in need 24hrs. per day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year. Our members are notified of calls through the Ocean County Sheriffs Department via Motorola UHF Minitor V pagers. On October 30th., 2008, we celebrated 95 years of proud, dedicated volunteer service to the community, and on that date in 2013, we will be celebrating 100 years of service.

Who I'd like to meet:

NEW MEMBERS....We are always looking for a few good men and women to join our ranks. If you live in the area and want to become a firefighter, you must be atleast 16 years of age. All the proper gear and training will be provided for you for FREE!! Or if you still want to help out, but for some reason you cannot preform the required duties of a firefighter the department has an auxiliary membership. These members help the department organize fundraisers, help the company out at emergency situations by providing us with water, food, etc. So if you want to help out the community by becoming a firefighter or auxiliary member, visit the firehouse located at 116 Sherman Ave, Seaside Heights on any Tuesday night from 8pm to 10pm. or call us at (732)-793-3603. MY HEART IS HEAVY AND TEARS FALL OVER THE TRAGIC EVENTS THAT HAPPENED AT FT.HOOD TODAY.11 OF OUR SOILDERS WENT HOME TODAY AND IM SURE GOD GAVE THEM THE HEROES WELCOME THAT THEY DESERVED.PLEASE PRAY FOR THE WOUNDED AND THEIR FAMILES.PRAY FOR OUR SOILDERS EVERYWHERE.IF YOU MEET A SOILDER SHAKE HIS HAND AND SAY THANK YOU..IF YOU KNOW OF A SOILDER RETURNING WELCOME HIM HOME.REACH OUT TO A DEPLOYED SOILDERS FAMILY AND HELP THEM IN ANY WAY YOU CAN.WRITE A LETTER,SEND AN EMAILE.YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH THOSE SIMPLE THINGS WOULD MEAN.
    Just a Simple Soldier
He was getting old and paunchy
And his hair was falling fast,
And he sat around the Legion,
    Telling stories of the past.
Of a war that he once fought in
And the deeds that he had done,
    In his exploits with his buddies;
    They were heroes, every one.
And 'tho sometimes to his neighbors
    His tales became a joke,
    All his buddies listened quietly
For they knew where of he spoke.
But we'll hear his tales no longer,
For ol' Bob has passed away,
And the world's a little poorer
    For a Soldier died today.
He won't be mourned by many,
Just his children and his wife.
    For he lived an ordinary,
    Very quiet sort of life.
He held a job and raised a family,
    Going quietly on his way;
And the world won't note his passing,
    'Tho a Soldier died today.
    When politicians leave this earth,
    Their bodies lie in state,
    While thousands note their passing,
And proclaim that they were great.
Papers tell of their life stories
From the time that they were young
But the passing of a Soldier
    Goes unnoticed, and unsung.
    Is the greatest contribution
To the welfare of our land,
Some jerk who breaks his promise
    And cons his fellow man?
    Or the ordinary fellow
Who in times of war and strife,
Goes off to serve his country
    And of
