Fire dancing is a highly visual performance art in which you create beautiful patterns of circles around your body. These circles are created by trails of fire or fabric, attached to chains or staffs which you spin in stunning, complex patterns as you dance.
Contempoary Fire Dancing has its roots in the traditional "poi" spinning of the Maori culture of New Zealand, but it's also been influenced by modern dance, staff spinning, club swinging, theatrical swordplay and even flaming bullwhips and jump ropes.
We are Firedance Productions, the largest rhythmic fire and light performance group in Canada. We can bring a truly enchanting and thrilling experience to any event. Your senses will be dazzled as we dance with spinning fire to the tribal beats of live drummers or to edgy urban electronic music. Open flame not an option? No Problem. We also offer glow-in-the-dark and fluorescent streamer shows. Our skilled dancers will amaze with choreographed perfection and fantastic freestyle improvisations.
