| About FIREFLY |
|
Inspired by the energetic funk of the late 70's and early 80's, Firefly is a unique blend of funk, rock and soul, with a splash of diva-house thrown in for good measure.
Krystle Jones (vocals) comes from a suburb of Detroit where her father owned a disco in the late 70's. Having music as a constant in her life, she made her way to San Francisco and has performed with several bands. Working with the SF Funk All-Stars, she's shared the stage with members of Sly and The Family Stone, Fred Wesley and Cecil "Peanut" Daniels.

In the early 90's Dave Janusko (guitar, dj, synth) co-wrote the Counting Crows hit 'round here, winning a BMI Pop Music Award in 1996. During the late 90's he was the guitarist for the industrial band My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. Having spent the past year playing in the SF dance club scene with his live instrumental breakbeat trio The Diamond Galaxy, Dave brings layers of electronic flavors to the Firefly sound.

Dawn Richardson (drums) likes to make noise – as many ways as she can. A drummer since the age of 13, she's perhaps best known for her work as a member of the rock band 4 Non Blondes. She has not only appeared several times in both Drum! And Modern Drummer magazines, but was also guest editor and contibuting writer of the Nov/Dec 2000 issue of Drum! devoted to female drummers. Her first drum instruction book, "Building Blocks of Rock", was published by Mel Bay publications in 1998.

Kevin White (bass) has played, toured and recorded with Noelle Hampton, Shelby Lynn, James Armstrong, Will Porter and the CA Allstars as well as numerous other Bay Area rock, funk and blues bands. He has played the 1998 Lillith Fair, appeared on ABC's "Live from the Starlight Room" and BBC1's "Later with Jules Holland".
