This is Tim Riffe, with his wife Renee, sons Travis (12) and Josh (8), and daughter Ashley (5). Tim is a fourteen year Captain of the Duncanville Fire Department and accomplished athlete; he is well respected and admired by all who have had the privilege to know him. Tim also has Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. He was diagnosed a few weeks ago and informed of the long and arduous battle which lies ahead. Help us give Tim the assistance he needs in supporting himself, his family, and his treatment.
The purpose of this site is to raise awareness for firefighter Tim Riffe's struggle with cancer. A short while ago, Tim was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer and has already begun treatment; as those familiar with this struggle will know, it is just that - a struggle. We are a group of Tim's fellow firefighters that have gathered together to attain support for Tim's financial needs in this difficult time. After much consideration as to what we could do, we came up with the idea to have a cross-Texas bike ride, gathering donations and pledges in the process. We'll be starting in Corpus Christi, Texas and making our way north, over a week, to Duncanville, Texas, the city in which we serve. The relay will commence on September 28 and we'll make our way through several towns small and large: Tivoli, Shiner, La Grange, Rockdale, Waco, Italy, and Waxahachie, to name a few. These cities are our checkpoints on the almost 400 mile trip from the coast to Duncanville.
This page will over time, through the ride, and afterwards serve as a newsfront for updating you on how we've come in raising funds and progressed in our trip.
