關於我：

Fire in the Belly Dance Company is the only professional tribal-fusion belly dance company in the Charlottesville area. Fire in the Belly currently consists of six dancers: Joy, Lindsey, Joia, Nehara, Irina and Jaime. The company's unique and adventurous style is reflected in their eclectic aesthetic, diverse repertoire, costuming, and musical selection, which ranges from traditional to electronica to funk. Collectively, the dancers have trained in Flamenco, Bharat Natyam, Kathak, American and Egyptian Cabaret, West-African, Yoga and Hip Hop. In 2008, Fire in the Belly was named the runner-up for Best of C-ville - Dance Company. Sean Haggerty describes their performance as "spine-tingling." Fire in the Belly has performed in many local venues as part of its outreach efforts, including Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar, UVA Culturefest, Gravity Lounge, PVCC, Live Arts, and the Jack Guidone Theater in DC to name a few. Current projects include teaching weekly classes, the development of full-lenght theater productions, and hosting performances and workshops with master teachers in related dance forms. Projects range from traditional to experimental dance and aim to advance the appreciation of the arts in the community. Members of Fire in the Belly teach weekly classes at the McGuffey Art Center (downtown Charlottesville) and perform every weekend at Al Hamraa Restaurant.
