PRESS RELEASE
============== While the UK drowns itself in an ever swelling sea of trendy neon clad ’The’ bands with thin sounds and short shelf lives, it’s a refreshing renaissance to sink deep into ultra-heavy riff rock spawned from heroes like Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Deep Purple and The Who mixed with the acid stoner sub pop of Monster Magnet, Alice In Chains, Kyuss and Fu Manchu and the new world prog rock synths of Trans Am. Unlike the current fashion/press darlings, this sound has maintained a devoted ever growing cult following; an alternative movement, pushed to their knees by power chords, all praying at the alter of unabashedly retro rock.
Fire On Six are a new young unsigned duo from London currently being mentored in studio by Nigel Pulsford from Bush. Their sound comes (unbelievably) with no guitars, just vintage keyboards, drums, bass and vocals, creating a compelling wall of sound like the non-standard band member formats of The Black Keys, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion or The White Stripes. Joined for these demo recordings by a member of The Tears (formerly Suede) and produced by one half of The Nextmen, Fire On Six have five tracks ready for submission and are looking for representation and a label to call home.
