Aviation, hiking, hot springs, camping, backpacking, downhill skiing, southwestern history, traveling. I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie who is also scared of heights. I can have no problem running at a adult bear to chase it away from campsites, flying low level over fires or terrain, driving towards tornados for better pictures. Enjoy good movies, psychological thrillers and travelling!
Music
Oh where do I begin. Grateful Dead, Lyle Lovett, Jimmy Buffett, Ween, Bill Hearne, Crosby Still and Nash, Erica Wheeler, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Bowling For Soup, George Strait, DVDA, Bloodhound Gang, Dire Straits, Foo Fighters, Indigo Girls, James Taylor, Kid Rock, KISS, Michelle Shocked, Natalie Merchant, Phish, Sarah McLachlan, Willie Nelson. If you hear a really awful song, or see someone in my friends list who is pretty bad, its most likely a joke.
Movies
Frailty, Tombstone, South Park, Office Space, Road Trip, Black Hawk Down, Easy Rider, A River Runs Though It, Young Guns, Lone Star. Open Range also is a good one.
Television
Most television shows are nothing but unadulterated crap. I do admit that South Park is one of my favorites, and then nature/science/history shows I like too. I have appeared in one BBC documentary, flying around Africa. Go look for "Playing God with the Weather" for the flying scenes, and some cockpit footage of me.
Books
I enjoy books by Edward Abbey (Monkey Wrench Gang, Desert Solitaire), Into Thin Air, and also books about New Mexico history.
About me: A new adventure, am in Alaska flying smokejumpers for the fire season this year. In the off season I am in Boise Idaho. Mali was an adventure, but lets just say I am so glad to be out. I fly cloud seeding aircraft, a King Air, to try and make more snow in the mountains. Before Mali, I was flying cargo in Santa Barbara, My "home" is in in Angel Fire, NM. In 2004, I lived in India from June to November, then came back to New Mexico.
I enjoy outdoor sports, thought provoking discussions, independent free spirited women, and am trying to learn acoustic guitar.
My email is nmfirepilot at gmail.com, my blog is at fire-pilot.blogspot.com
I need to step away from the tie-dye. I smell too good to be a hippie and my dad is probably a cop. Being a hippie is not a fashion craze, man. It was a way of life, in the 60s, man.
Who I'd like to meet: People of similar interests in life, or can intelligently talk about passions and beliefs in their life, or even a good debate too. A woman who can put up with me! Not as easy as it sounds, since my tolerate for BS and games has greatly decreased, not afraid to call it as I see it.
We did. It was awesome and pretty empty. Only a couple of guys in the big spring and one in the next spring up when we arrived. We boiled in the higher spring before taking over the next one down after the guy left. We had a great time up there and are planning on going back next week. :)
