About me:
Established in 1990, Fireside Books & Gifts is an independent general bookstore located in the
foothills of western North Carolina, serving
Rutherford and surrounding counties. Our rustic
A-frame building with a cheerful fireplace provides a warm, inviting atmosphere for readers of all ages.
We are currently located in Forest City at the Tri-City
Mall beside the Cinema.

Who are we?
Fireside Books and Gifts has proudly served
Rutherford county for nearly two
decades. When the business sold to two local sisters a little over one year ago - not a lot changed immediately other than an increase in gift items for customers to choose from. We are now in the process of relocating our business into the downtown area ~ where with at least double the space, we can offer the community many more events, workshops and programs for children. Hopefully we will be at that location this time next year! In the meantime, we developed an ecommerce site so customers have the choice of shopping online at their leisure or stopping in and allowing our wonderful staff to assist in finding that perfect book or gift they’re
looking for. Special orders for books are still taken at no additional cost ~ just give us a call or email your request to orders@firesidebooksandgifts.com.
In our Gift Loft, you’re sure to find unique items you won't find elsewhere. From collectibles and heart-warming keepsakes, to fun and humorous gifts, Fireside has something for all kinds of special occasions.

Fireside Events
Author events with such authors as Kay Hooper, Ann B. Ross, Ron Rash, Cassandra King, Maria Snyder, Robert Inman, Pamela Duncan, Josh Weil, Carl T. Smith, Danny Bernstein and many, many more.
Children’s events such as Story Time, Fireside Craft Hour, and our Fireside Kids Book Club.
In the Summer of 2008, Fireside kicked off a “Travel Around the World with Fireside”, our first ever summer long childrens program including special guests, story time, crafts, food and games from countries around the world.
Book Clubs: We welcome you to sign up for one of our many Book Clubs: The Fireside Book Club, The Teen Book Club, The ‘Pride and Prejudice’ Club, The ‘Love Bites: Paranormal Romance’ Club, or the ‘Who-dun-it’ club.
