Convinced the mosquitoes have morphed from a comfortable tan to black and white stripes, Oliver threads his way carefully through the blackberries. ????????????????????????????????
Sheila sits absently on the top step of her porch. Her bare left foot rests three of five steps down, her naked right two. The latter's knee props here forearm erect, a quarter smoked cigarette taut between her fingers. She gazes unaware to your left. She has blue jeans and a colorless tank top. Her face is freckled, her hair auburn, waving, and long. ---------------------------
Hugh stands fixedly occupied with an inchworm slinking slowly up his left leg. A tan mosquito brashly sinks its beak into his forgotten forearm; all sensation is absorbed with curious eyes. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Beauty surrounds us," Jim thought, "and so does other stuff."
Fire versus Extinguisher came into existence in November of 2004. Numerologically speaking, no party presently involved with the band is quite sure what, if any significance this bears. However, there are three members at this juncture. None of the trio was raised in the city of Austin, but nevertheless were destined to meet there, conventional rock and roll instruments in hand, a quaint living room east of I-35 in the southside of town their home. Ideas whimsically circled the space in what came to be called the Pepperhouse, and from this improvised collaboration of fingertips was birthed a strange momentum that continues henceforth. As of yet, the sound of FvE remains wholly instrumental, but in no way has the band permanently chiseled into the foundation of their sound the limitations of repetition. Each member constantly seeks new inspirations, within and without, in order to evolve as well as harmonize with the instability and constant change surrounding us all. The sonic atmosphere is simultaneously a cosmic tornado and breeze through prairie grasslands, unafraid of acknowledging natural extremes: focusing steadfast on the tightrope thinly stretched over the shifing middleground.
