In the constantly evolving music industry, very few indie record labels are able to remain relevant. 1st and 15th Productions has not only kept up with the music industry's trends; it has reinvented, reinvigorated and surpassed them. Shattering all preconceptions, 1st and 15th has become a standout force in the music industry.
In 2001, Chicago became home to 1st and 15th Productions. The now renowned "FNF" is the brainchild of Charles "Chilly" Patton and Chicago MC Wasalu "Lupe Fiasco" Jaco. The two immediately began assembling a diverse roster, with acts ranging from hip-hop to alternative music. Enlisting the help of label mates Sarah Green and Matthew Santos, Lupe Fiasco turned the music industry upside down with his smash debut album 'Lupe Fiasco's Food and Liquor'. After receiving critical acclaim, he followed it with the grammy nominated 'Lupe Fiasco's The Cool' which again featured vocals from Green and Santos. In 2008, 1st and 15th expanded its roster by signing the upbeat electro funk duo Hey Champ and the mysterious post punk outfit Japanese Cartoon.
Currently, the company is preparing to release projects from Matthew Santos, Sarah and Lupe Fiasco's third album "Lasers", due out in 2009.
