Every day, new voices burst onto the music scene. It takes something startlingly unique to rise above the din and make a lasting impression.
Angela Siracusa's music is as playful and warm as her personality. Intimate stories interlaced with humor. Small stories about relationships and life. Her voice is both silken and steel. “Drawn to the Flame” is not only a cut on her new album. It easily describes the effect this singer/songwriter has on the listener. You will be drawn in and the heat is intoxicating.
A duet on “Magnet and Steel” with the songs’ venerable writer, Walter Egan, is one of many highlights on her latest Album. Collaboration is a part of Angela’s nature and she welcomes the opportunity to co-write or share the stage. Not surprising for a passionate little girl from a great big, musical, Italian family. Along with her multi-talented brothers, Angela toured for 6 years as the group, SYRACUSE. The family still enjoys holiday get-togethers when the instruments come out and the jam continues.
A professional singer since her teens, Angela cites influences that are both classic and contemporary, not unlike the artist herself. From stylists like Dolly Parton and Shania Twain to balladeers including Melissa Etheridge and Kris Kristofferson, and pop-rock influences of Janis Joplin, Heart or Mariah Carey, Angela draws colorful perspective and paints it as her own.
Angela’s passion is evident in everything she touches. She is devoted to family and friends and her interests include fitness and exercise, crying over old movies and perhaps foremost, cooking. Her culinary skills, creativity and love of music landed her a writing gig for the multi-genre e-zine, The Tub Magazine. Angela interviews famous artists and cooks for them as well, sharing her experiences in a column called “Angela Feeds the Band”.
She’s a living, breathing paradox … don’t let those daring stiletto heels fool you. The sensual package envelops a complex mind and private soul. At once demure and the next minute saucy, Angela is more likely to be found sharing a glass of champagne than a cup of tea on a Sunday afternoon. As a songwriter, Angela keeps a journal, making notes for future songs about life, love and friendship. When she’s not in the studio, Angela is disciplined about spending time each day playing guitar and writing, penning songs that are literary and melodic.
Her sophomore album, “Drawn to the Flame” is a lesson well-learned, brimming with songs hand-picked by the artist and delivered with elegance and verve. Whether you listen with a steaming cup of tea or a cold mug, Angela Siracusa will sweep your ears off their feet.
