The song on the above video is called "Fret Job". I wrote it but never had a chance to play it until I started playing with my ex-bandmates in a group called Ritual back in the early 90's. It's not part of this project but oh well. It's something to put here. The quality is not so good but hey it was my wife holding a video camera behind a bunch of people and dubbed from a VHS tape. :^)

Photos I snapped of extremely rare items at the 2007 Dallas Guitar Festival

InfluencesMusical Influences: Rush, Al Dimeola, Eric Johnson, Hans Zimmer, Racer X, George Lynch, Saga, Fates Warning, Scott Henderson, QueensRyche, Vangelis, Toto, Simple Minds, SRV, Journey, Neil Schon, Dream Theater, Andy Timmons, Paul Gilbert, Frank Gambale, George Benson, Billy Gibbons, Michael Schenker, TNT, Judas Priest, Randy Rhoads, Sarah McLachlin, Seal, Alan Holdsworth, Shawn Lane, Danny Gatton, Warren DeMartini, Greg Howe, Jeff Watson, Joe Satriani, Rob Shrock.

Heroes: My wife Kimberly. Who could form a more perfect woman who has endured so much, who has overcome such overwhelming obstacles, whose desire to serve others needs is endlessly preceding her own. Who could create such a yielding character overflowing with powerful gifts of the heart? Only a God who knew me. For you are the most visible evidence of Gods love to me because he has allowed me to be a part of you. You inspire me with your gentleness, your vulnerable attentive spirit, and your thousand different smiles that all have a meaning that only I can discover. Who could craft such a person that has received so little and yet given so much, who encourages me when I’m fragile, who forgives me when I’m wrong, who believes in me when I don’t, who humbles me when I boast, only a God who answered my prayer the day I asked for you before I ever knew you. Who could see into my minds eye so well; drawing me to my perfect vision of beauty so bright it’s as if heaven were shining in my heart. I love you sweetheart.

Life Influences:Jesus Christ, my wife, Hank Hanegraaff, C. S. Lewis, Norman Geisler, Reasons To Believe, friends and family of course, Lee Strobel, Honorable mentions: Major Dick Winters Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division and all the in Easy Company soldiers who served in WWII (ALL the soldiers for that matter), all the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan including Joe my step brother (RIP). Phillip N. Mitchell, M.D. (RIP) you are gone from our life's now, but the impact you made still remains with us everyday.

Sounds LikeSomething fresh I hope

   About Scott Sanford

First Order is a progressive rock project ranging from ethereal melodic sojourns to grinding metallic episodes. The compositions draw from a visceral introspective view of composition and musical sincerity that I hope produce works rich in melody, intricate structure, and rhythmic variety. It's my hope that the songs tell a story evoking a range of emotions for the listener. This mind-set produces a musical autonomy consistent with the progressive style I hope is achieved.

The compositions for "Algebra of Light" have thus far been written, arranged, and recorded in a combination of home and production studios. Most of the tracks for the drums, bass, and some guitars were recorded at a production studio in Dallas. However, many guitars, some bass, all keyboards, and all vocals were recorded in a home based studio, either mine or our producer at the time, Rob Shrock. Robs' expertise in sonic engineering, mixing, and production were invaluable. Plus he had great gear and is a superb human being and friend.

Thanks for stopping by,

Scott

The songs in the player below are with vocal tracks performed by Ernie Becerra.
