The Core of First Words consists of mc's Sean One & Above along with DJ's Jorun & STV. Based out of Fredericton, New Brunswick.. First Words has stuck to the formula which most rap/hip hop groups have abandonned : Having fun with art of beat digging & DJing along with thought out and clever rhymes that weave thru the rhythm fabric.
All members of First Words rap and beat dig. In addition, Jorun Handles most of the production (both musically and visually for music videos featured) while the DJing/turntablisms is divided between Jorun, STV and Hurrikain Annie. Sean One MC's and adds additional production. Businesswise, dead-beats is spearheaded by Sean One & Jorun with additional assistance from First Words. It's a fully collaborated effort.
First Words released it's debut CD back in 2003 and have toured and appeared on many other releases since including their appearance on the 7 inch E.P. "Jorun's Way b/w Sean One's way as well as the full length release by Jorun Bombay titled "Jorun's Way" on dead-beats records.
The 7 inch vinyl EP titled "The Anti-Mixtape Movement" was released in August 2007 entirely produced by Jorun Bombay (as well as a video for "One of the best" feat Sean One & Jorun and "joint" with First Words feat : Monark.) leading up to the full length release of First Words' second full album (which is available now) features : DJ Hurrikain Annie (R.I.P.), Phillmost the Soulman, Monark, Mick D, Buck 65, Ghettosocks, Lamar and more.
