About me:
WORLD PREMIERE @ SXSW FILM FEST 2007!!!

FISH KILL FLEA is a feature-length documentary that was produced, shot and directed by Brooklyn-based filmmakers Brian Cassidy, Aaron Hillis & Jennifer Loeber.

SYNOPSIS: Once thriving, a dead mall in upstate New York is now home to a ragtag flea market, living proof that the American Dream is in perpetual decay. Blending verite with a stylized wit, this heartbreaking portrait raises questions about our disposable culture through the unfiltered lives of its eccentric community.

FISH KILL FLEA is a superb film! Seriously--congratulations. The unique photographic aesthetic lends itself so well to the subject matter. And those people. I love those people. You captured the heart of a once powerful mall...inside those quiet, yet significant, final beats.

Wish I could make to this year's SXSW - alas I'm stuck in NYC. Would love to see your film, though. When is it comin' this way?

Ah, yes, the cinetrix. She treated me well while I was on Southern Circuit.

As for MHK, we're screening in Staten Island in April. Maybe I'll see you there?

Is it my misanthropic spleen that lands me at die Unterseite Ihrer Freundliste? LiveSpace schadenfreude violates my soul and penetrates my being with acidic lashings of despotic weltanschauung.

Good luck at SxSW!

You can see my film the same way everyone else does...by going to Joe Swanberg's mom's basement and pressing PLAY on the VCR. We've signed exclusive rights with her....sorry.
Joe Swanberg

Feb 26 2007 7:26 AM

I no longer have any official position on your attendance at the screening. In fact, I think I'll skip the screening and go skinny dipping in Barton Springs that night.
Joe Swanberg

Feb 26 2007 7:13 AM

Oh, all right! You can come see it. Jeez.

Feb 26 2007 7:03 AM

Keep picking on that trailer and I'll see you're banned from the screening, Hillis.
