| About Fishkiss |
|
Fishkiss is a folk rock band from the Toronto area. We began recording a full band demo in 2006, but it was never completed. You can listen to some live recordings here from 2005/2006.
We are currently on hiatus.
Fishkiss.
Everybody, Fishkiss!
Why?
Because the Polar Caps are melting, and soon well all be swimming with the Salmon and the Mackerel. You better learn to Fishkiss!
Our material is not easy to stamp a label on because we’ve pulled in influences from so many different places, spanning genres from classical to fiddle to jazz and spanning artists from bands like Tool to Dispatch to the Barenaked Ladies. We grew up singing, strumming, and drumming, and we want to put what we’ve loved for so long into our own music.
The most dominant characteristics of our sound are our distinctive acoustic riffs, and our unique vocal harmony. We are trying to bring a sense of melody and poetry back into alternative music. This is music that means something to us, and to those closest to us. There is something here for you, too. These are songs for anyone and everyone who loves music.
We’ve been writing and playing together for a few years now, and we’ve been well received by people in all different age groups. Tell your mother and father. Tell your baby brother. Tell your cousins. Tell them to Fishkiss!
