Witnessing, witnessing and more witnessing! Oh and eating chocolate too.
Movies
I'm not a big movie watcher-visist www.HollywoodandGod.com and you'll see why.
Television
I don't have cable at home which saves me lots of money and time.
Books
I have lots of favorite books but instead of listing those I will tell you about the books I am currently reading. The list is quite long. Some of these books I have barely started, some I am halfway through and others I have almost finished. Here it goes, 1. The Bible (going through the Old Testament) 2. "Money Possessions and Eternity" by Randy Alcorn 3. "The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment" by Jeremiah Burroughs (every single line has a nugget) 4. "Open Heart, Open Home" by Karen Mains (this book is about Christian hospitality) 5. "A Hunger for God" by John Piper 6. "Springboards for Budding Preachers" by Ray Comfort (excellent source for evangelism--I try to memorize portions from this book to help me in witnessing to people) 7. "Feminine Appeal" by Carolyn Mahaney (a good practical, biblical, and God-centered book for women) 8. "Systematic Theology" by Wayne Grudem 9. "Do Hard Things" Alex and Brett Harris 10. "Life as a Vapor" John Piper

Thank you for reading this. Here is a little
bit about me and why I am a Christian and so
passionate for God. I was reading the Bible
one night, many years ago, and I read these
verses in the New Testament, that struck terror into my heart:
Eph 5:1-6 "Therefore be imitators of God as
dear children. And walk in love, as
Christ also has loved us and gave Himself up for
us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a
sweet-smelling aroma. But sexual immorality
and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not
even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;
neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor
coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather
giving of thanks. For this you know, that no
fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man,
who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the
kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you
with empty words, for because of these things the
wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience."
That night, I realized that I was the very person the
Bible was talking about. Or better yet, God
opened my eyes and showed me that I had done all
of the above listed things. In other words, I
had broken the Ten Commandments. I had violated God's holy law. At that moment, I knew if I were to die I would go to Hell and die in my sins. I can remember thinking, "I will do whatever it takes to get right with God because eternity is a long time!"
What did I do next? I repented (turned from my sins) and trusted in Jesus Christ to save me, recognizing that Jesus Christ died on a cross and rose from the dead and that if I repented and put all my trust in him I would be saved from Hell. I trusted in Christ the way someone trusts in a parachute to save them from a 10,000 ft jump. I have never been the same since. If you haven't thought about this, please click on the link below to see how you measure up to God's law. The link says "Take a test to see if you are a good person." Thank you again for taking the time to read this! Soli Deo Gloria!
"Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
"1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
When we are tempted to conform to the ways of the world, just realize that Jesus Christ was also tempted in all the ways we are tempted. By his experiencing the same pressures we feel today, we have an advocate (defense attorney) between us and God, Jesus Christ who knows what we are going through. We can boldly approach God for His mercy and have His help in time of need. God's promise to us is that when we are tempted, He will alway provide a way out for us. We just have to look for it to see it.
