Fissionsound was born out of the need of electronic based nights and gigs in Wolverhampton in 1998. I had got bored with DJing psy and techno (you can have too much of a good thing!) and was drawn back into the electronica and breaks sound. Myself and DJ Iytal, after several years experience of DJing and putting on nights and events, decided to start a weekly night playing breaks and electronica across the board. This evolved into us having monthly gigs for electronic artists to play live. It led it's course and during that time, Chojin were in a quite busy period of writing music, we played the odd gig in town, 1 support slot, 4 of our own and one very successful gig in London. We sold quite a few CD's over that period at gigs and at the local record shop! We were also one of the first artists to be accepted at the now very successful Peoplesound.com site - they gave us money. Wow. The live nights stopped, we carried on putting on club nights for a little while until we basically got fed up of our town and were having far too much fun going to Birmingham and elsewhere getting involved with the emerging breaks scene. DJ Iytal has since has worked with Breakin Point magazine and now a part of the Trigger Soundsystem. Since that time, I have been fortunate to play alongside some very talented and respected artists at various local, national and European events.
I continue to sporadically DJ here and there (playing psy infused electro/breaks/techno sets and also the odd indie night where I get to play what the hell I want), writing someimes with with Scott (who's solo project is called The Pad Foundation) and now I am also producing my own material. I will not be limiting myself to a certain style, all sorts of music influence me and hopefully this will reflect in my work. Any collaborations will also be placed on this site. I look forward to any future connection with anyone I may work and socialise with. Peace. Love. Respect.
